An open invitation to laying the myKART Foundations

Fellow myKARTers,

I invite all members to participate in building the foundations for myKART as it embarks on its journey towards popularising grassroots motorsports in the 21st century. As is often said, the sky is the limit: for just more than two years myKART has established a reputation as the best kept secret in karting. This should no longer be a secret, and the time is ripe for myKART to be a significant player in the country's motorsports ambitions. This journey will be tough initially, but shall be sustainable and rewarding to all stakeholders.

Therefore, we shall have the 1st myKART Foundation Conference within the next 2 months. All interested myKART members are welcomed to participate in the Foundation conference in a collaborative manner. Those with special links to media and influential figures in the industry will be most helpful.

These "Foundation" members will be tasked with delivering the following:

[*]formation of the entity
[*]roadmapping the strategies
[*]committing to action plans
[*]setting out member rules
[*]documenting the A-Z manual
[*]financial structure and business model
[/list]

[i]Foundation[/i] members are expected to be able to commit time and resources to this project. Also expect rewards to be deferred until myKART achieves critical mass and sustainable profitability.

I shall be working to identify a suitable location for the Conference. I expect the Conference to last a whole day with a dinner/karaoke to round it up. Costs of the conference will be shared by participants.

Please keep checking this website for the formal event notification, but in the meantime, please register your interest by posting a comment to this topic.

May we all play a significant role in motorsports in the country.

one question: are we attempting to do this by following the footsteps of other similar org, or is this like the first ever attempt. pardon me for my ignorance.

I believe myKART will be unique and will not be based on any other organisation, except (well) Bernie Ecclestone's Formula One Management (FOM).

Even then - it will be different. Because we shall be looking at the whole value chain from novice drivers to world class ones.

How about a tie up between MyKart and some of the local motorsports team? G1 Symphony, Meritus, Amprex, SR Motorsport to name a few. Test drive, pit pass, volunteers, or just a seminar with the drivers / crew.

Also, anybody offerring company secretarial services for formation of company and on going secretarial work?

That would be me. Please confirm the venue & date. I think on 30 April I may be getting myself some coaching on drifting....but not confirmed yet.

Wei Li - yes we will need your secretarial services here.

Right now, I am trying to get a date which is suitable for the main people. So, 23rd or 30th is on the table right now. My preference is for 23rd, but will confirm later. We shall aim to use Brian E's office in PJ to save costs.

why not have it on a saturday instead of a sunday? a non working saturday is best. I usually have commitments on sundays.
anyhow, do set up a date and see how it goes first.

Date is fixed on 30th April. It is on a Saturday.

Bro Fazz,

Will be most gald to assist/lead on technical area. As per my mail - not too sure if can make it Apr30....since it's 1st weekend after a proloned absense from home.

Will confirm soon after touch down - 25th April.

Hi Fazz,

An update on the conference venue. We have a location on Jalan University that is being set up as a showcase for our auto accessory products (14, Jalan University - opposite University Hospital). Only got the keys over the weekend and will be doing renovations and painting. Should be ready by the 30th but will only be able to confirm once the contractors are in and can schedule completion. Will keep you updated and should be able to confrim the venue by early next week.
