1st Step to F1 karting scheme
Just wondering how many of you guys out there are ready to step up to another level of karting altogether and leave the 4 strokes behind? My team, the Raycer Powerhouse, has got the "state of the art" karting on offer for those interested - the Swiss Hutless "Magic" 50mm axle racing chassis with Rotax 125 Junior (22 HP) engines... For a price, you get 8 hours of karting.. no fuss, just arrive and drive. On top of that, we're organising a 5-round closed championship series, which will see the winner racing in the season opening/ 1st race of the Rotax Max Challenge 2008... fully sponsored.. well, except for the AAM licensing and racing apparels.
This is a once in a lifetime offer guys, "arrive and drive"... So, any takers? I hope to see you guys on the track this Saturday.
No.. won't be racing. This Diva just like to dress and watch

Seems RaycerDiva needs to get her technical details more sorted out
Anyone that has been receiving my newsletter will have gotten a bit of vague info on this series - Fazz also met with the people putting it together yesterday. In effect it is very similar to the proposed "Yamaha Cup ala Pan Global style" thing I guess - expect for K1 rather than K2 - and with Rotax Junior engines to keep the maintenance costs down (participants pay closer to RM350/round rather than ~RM500 they would now for K1) - and less variation between engines (engines will often vary at the top revs and power valve operation will vary-which you don't have with juniors).
There's also talk of maybe starting the series up with a 1-2 day coaching session at Sepang for example. The actual closed championship races could be tried to integrate into the My-Kart events to run as a K1 category but on separate dates at the Sepang track. The main idea is to have a "K1" category but with equal performance karts for everyone - and with more prizes for top finishers than mentioned in the original post here.
Everything I posted here is not confirmed/final and just ideas that were flying around. I'll try to personally get guys here more info by Tuesday so that everyone knows what this is all about.
It's is awesome that my-kart has drawn so many more drivers in Malaysia to become active in Karting and it shows with the interest from Swiss Hutless and Lim/Yamaha. Imo my-kart has probably more than doubled the amount of "active" karters in the country. My hope is of course that many will move into AAM sanctioned racing - and it looks like it is already happening with a few drivers I met yesterday looking at racing in RMC/Rok this year!
Many of the drivers I looked at in all categories yesterday would be more than ready to get their own kart and start racing in a Malaysian National Series, and perform really well! There's no reason to feel intimidated and scared about racing with the "big boys" - most my-kart guys are already good enough to start racing in AAM events. Anyone that is looking at racing do feel free to get in touch with me to ask me about anything (budgets, tips on doing a championship on little $$$, what the racing is like etc. etc.), especially if you're a dad and wondering if your 8-12 year old son/daughter might be able to start racing! , send a message here.. call me 012-2608102... find me at a track....
Oh and if you're 32 years old or above and feel you've got what it takes... start racing Rotax! There's a separate "masters" category in which you race in the same heats with the seniors(15+), but you score points in your own championship as well. The champion in Malaysia gets a trip to the UAE (Dubai/Al Ain) this year to race against drivers from all over the world... and there has been almost ZERO competition in this category for the past few years in Malaysia - if you really go for it you could be in racing in the UAE at the end of this year... act fast though 'cause the first race is at the end of this month - you can even use my old kart for the first round for free if you don't have time to get yourself one!
I'm not selling karts/engines or anything else (well ok helmets)... I just want to see more drivers taking part in local races
.

The damage is RM300 per 2-hour session. Very competitive as the normal rental karts are going for RM35/ 10 minutes.
I did notice that at CK it's all 2 strokes but Speedway is still mostly 4 strokes. So that's another added bonus.

I must apologise on my technical details. But the reference to 4-stroke is a general statement as most rental circuits are still offering 4-strokes at the normal RM35/ 10 minutes of driving, and not the CK karts and my-Kart championship that's already run on 2-strokes.
The actual concept is more like "time-sharing", where you pay ahead and then be given 4 driving "licences" where you just book and "arrive and drive". The closed championship is an additional fringe activity that will be one of many that we have in mind, whereby the members of our scheme will get to participate in a 5-round closed championship once they have used up these 4 licences, and the main prize is a almost full sponsorship to the first round of Rotax Max 2008. Almost full sponsorship because we sponsor the participation fee, chassis, engine, mechanics and all other items related to the kart but not the apparel and helmet. But then again, if there is enough support, we might just throw these in too.
The scheme is at RM1200 for 4 licences of 2-hour driving time each, totalling 8 hours. This, in comparison to the RM35/10min which would be RM420 for 2 hours, and looking at the state of the rental karts that karters are subjected to, is a steal. At least at CK, its 2 stroke, but other rental circuits are still offering 4 strokes at this price.
The whole point is to offer top quality karts to those who have yet to buy their own and are not normally privy to the experience of riding one at a competitive price.
Anyway, I'll email Fazz our newly done flyer first and see what the guru has to say about it, okay?

raycerdiva - the question i have pertains to the 2 hours. is this 2 hours track/race time or 2 hours block time? i think it is an interesting concept which we should discuss in more detail.

Hi Fazz
I've just emailed to you our flyer. The 2 hours is block time. So then it's up to the karter... if they're nuts like our Ray, then they'd drive non-stop.. heheh.
Anyway, check out the flyer.

...bear in mind that the kart is powered by a 125 Junior Max engine while the rest of the field are on Senior Max which is your category.

»RaycerDiva:
Sorry, Sabelt, I'm afraid it doesn't work like that... But we do offer rental of karts for your race, which will be with Rotax Max Senior Engine (29.5hp) at RM600.00 for the whole day. Inclusive of fuel and of course the full support of our team of experienced mechanics. If you are interested, please let me know

This looks interesting ... RM600. Includes the transportation of the kart to CK right when there is a mykart 125 event?

»RaycerDiva:
The RM600.00 is an "arrive and drive" deal, so yes, it includes the transportation of the kart to CK for the my-kart 125 event.

can i have the flyer too? . thanks ray

Please clarify:
First, for the avoidance of doubt, this arrive and drive deal for RM600 also includes new race tyres or at least near new tyres specified for mykart 125 event?
Second, can you also allow for seat fitting (some of us are a bit well endowed....you know) cos we dont want to be marked as DNS on the morning of raceday.
Thirdly, can we request to do a few laps of test runs on the seat fitting day at either PLUS Speedway or City Karting (Sepang is a bit of a time problem for most of us).
