So who's the fastest team for this year? (Alonso said Ferrari :D)

Fernando Alonso has admitted that the Scuderia Ferrari is the fastest team in the 2007 World Championship. The 2-Time World Champion believes that his team McLaren as well as Renault and BMW are close, but that Ferrari is simply the best so far. This is what Fernando had to say:

"I think Ferrari is a little bit ahead of everyone. They're really fast and consistent too. Renault, McLaren and BMW are the next group and all very close on pace. We can't afford to make any mistakes in Australia."

Alonso's statement would certainly seem to be supported by pre-season testing last week in Bahrain. A test in which Ferrari dominated the timing sheets. Testing of course is not necessarily a true indication of team performance and we shall all have to wait and see who comes out on top in Melbourne.

There are just two weeks left before the first race of the season. Be sure to stay with Ferrari 1 for exciting full season coverage.

Probably going to be a title fight between Kimi and Heikki and then the half-Finn Nico might join in now and then.... wait let me take off my blue and white glasses....

Everything points towards Ferrari being the car to beat on race-pace at the beginning of the season, with qualifying a bit tighter but I don't think Ferrari will struggle to much to win at least 3/4 first races Smiling . Which driver? ... I say Kimi will surprise Massa in the first qualifying session and over the season they will probably be close here and there but Kimi will be more consistent from race to race (I wonder if blue-white contact lenses are still in Smiling ... ).

I'm a super fan of Ferrari but not of Kimi so I really hope Ferrari will win this year with massa smoking kimi in more than half of the races.

If Ferrari is really that quick this year then it's sad that schumi is no longer with them as it would have been a nice retirement for him if he won the championship before leaving.

agreed. nothing to get excited about just yet. some mind games being played out. obviously alonso wants to deflect any high expectations people may have on him and mclaren - whilst putting the pressure on ferrari and kimi. but funny people only mention kimi, but not massa? what is your take on this?
