rFactor racing simulation

Anyone here are into racing simulation on PC? I would like to show some of the pics that consider yourself buying this game and play online together one day.

This game are almost close to real but can't 100% replicate. From tire wear to body damage, this game has it. I mean close to everything! Even Jacques Villeneuve practice them at home. If you're a real race driver you'll be suprised of the racing physics and realism

If you think you're bored playing with F1, there are hundreds of mods that you can download car/racing series on their download website. Eg. V8 australia supercar series, Porsche Carrera Cup, DTM, Megane Series, and many more. Even 125cc kart mod! My favourite mod is V8 supercar series.

Great investment for those who are into serious racing to practice and improve their racing skill.

The requirements to in order to play this fFactor racing simulation:

-An USB port steering wheel (yes! its important for a full racing simulation feel. Decent steering wheel like logitech MOMO only cost around RM300) Logitech does have with a 5 H-shifter & clutch but it cost a bomb at RM1100!

-Get youself a decent PC (good video/graphic card, 1GB of RAM, free space of hard disk). I've just bought a new custom PC just to get the full feel of racing simulation.

-Download free trial from http://www.rfactor.net/index.php?page=downloads (you may have to purchase online USD40 at their website for full version.

Finally, you can even play online leagues globally!

Im currently in lowyat.net Malaysian Sim Racing rFactor league.

sounds cool. i haven't played a race sim for a looong time now. but would like to try out a good racing sim again. last f1 sim was Geoff Crammond's GP4, and then i played the PS2 Gran Turismo... but that's about it.

i played this game before and the control is damn realistic ... far more realistic than F1 Challenge from EA ... couple it with Logitech Momo steering ... and wallah ... the next best thing after karting ...

wish my friend can return the steering back though ...

Wow i dont really expect some of you guys are really into this. This rFactor are far much better than GT4 on PS2.

Thumbs up ahh yes if am not mistaken we used this which is attached to the simulator car during our recent f1 events..it was soo cool as if we're in the car itself! if we have enough budget maybe we could set this up during mykart launch....$$$$$$

It would be more awsome with Vista Direct-X 10 8800GT graphic card. Every pixel of movement can be spotted.

8800gt direct-x 10? wow..that needs to be paired with a good mobo and proc...

I think this was used a the recent F1 launch at 2 Utama the other day..tried it out and it was cool...

...seriously.. Sabelt, do you have contacts? Can you try to arrange for us to have an rfactor challenge going during our launch? I read yesterday, that Cyberview had 20 of these things (not rfactor...not sure what) set up during their annual go-kart event in conjunction with F1. If you have the contacts, etc, pls forward them to the Marketing committee headed by Euss and see what we can get out of this for the event.

BTW, i have some good news for you guys. That the owner of Malaysian Sim Racing (MSR - www.malaysiansimracer.com) and some other participants including myself might be willing to promote my-kart. At least 6pc's. Bring our equipments and voila. Good benefit to for both parties too.

very very good idea !!!!
but let me warn you guys,handling rfactor simulation its not easy. therefore i suggest activating all simulation driving assits. Eg : Traction control braking help and etc to make it more fun and accesible for public.

The last sim I've been playing a lot is Live for Speed (www.liveforspeed.net).

Prompted by this thread I paid up for rFactor and have been trying out many different mods. Had a really difficult time first getting the force feedback anywhere near ok.. now it's at least driveable, but I don't quite feel as much "in the car" as in LFS.

Otherwise so far the Clio mod was cool and I tried some online racing with it. The Formula BMW mod was really really cool, at Sepang(GP4) I was able to get to very realistic Formula BMW times (2:13), and it just feel very much like driving the Formula BMW - braking points are very similar and power delivery very similar as well, and the default setup had me changing gears in almost exactly the same places as in real life.

Now downloading the ICA kart mod and will download the Kart Racer mod once the download limit on rfactorcentral is lifted.

So far the braking feels a bit weird in all cars, can't quite get a feel for it like in LFS, and the oversteer correction seems a lot more realistic in LFS as well - I can feel the oversteer a lot better. In rfactor I haven't been able to get to making small corrections through corners - it's always either saving quite a big slide or driving on rails.

rFactor has the huge plus of real tracks and cars. The GP4 Sepang is really really good, the other version is crap in comparison with elevation changes wrong in many places.

I'm off to race a bit more. Thumbs up
