ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE

The Rotax Max Challenge (Asia & Malaysia) was concluded yesterday at the Sepang Karting Track. Asia Max was ran in 4 rounds and RMC in 5.

In the Senior Category fellow My-Karter Massedenal Ali known as EDE finished 2nd behind Ryan Haryanto in the Finals. Ede finished 1st overall for the Malaysia RMC and was crowned as the Malaysia Rotax Max Champion 2007 Champion. Ede will be representing Malaysia in the World Finals schedule to be held from 26-11-2007 in Al-Ain, Dubai.

Ede started the race with 3 points deficit. Fariz Fawzi was leading the overall championship after 4 rounds. Fariz only managed to finised 18th. As a rookie Ede has done excellently well beating many other season karters. Caongratulation Ede !!!!...

Another fellow My-Karter Mohamad Afiq Ikhwan (my son) known as Afiq in the RMC rounds and Ikhwan to fellow my-karter was awarded with a special award i.e. the "Rookie". As told by the RMC/AMC organiser to me, the tciket was from AMC and it was given based on his achievement during the season with 2 podium finishes of 4 rounds of the AMC and finishing 5th overall and with zero karting history.

In the event Ikhwan was 6th fastest in the time trial (51.68 sec), 3rd in Heat 1, 3rd in Heat 2, 2nd in the Pre-Final and 4th in the final. In the Final Ikhwan was 3rd until lap 15 before a mechanical problem (throttle cable) suffice.

In the Malaysia RMC Junior Ooi Fei Hong had a disastrous outing. With him DNF the Pre-final the door to the world final was wide open between Ryan Ritchie, Hasif Azmi & Bryan Mehta. However in the final, Bryan Mehta secured the seat for the Junior when finished 3rd, while Hasif was 11th. Bryan was only 1 point ahead of Ooi Fei Hong and if only Ikhwan finished 3rd or OOi Fei Hong finished 7th instead of 8th, Fei Hong Would have represented Malaysia in the World Final. This is what when we say "Takde Rezeki"...

With the result, Ikhwan will be joining Massedenal Ali to the Rotax Max World Final in Dubai.

I personally would like to thank My-Kart and all my-karters'. It was my-kart events that has given him the opportunity to build his talent. I also would like to thank Naza as he was the person who saw that Ikhwan has got the talent and advised me to polish his talent further. I never had expected that at 1st season with not much of racing experience other than My-Kart events, he has progress and develop very well. I would believe the same goes to Ede whose achievement was even bigger i.e. crowned as the Malaysian Champion for 2007. Ede is more or less in the same boat with Ikhwan no racing experience other than My-Kart events.

As far as I am concern, Ikhwan is a product that My-Kart produced and guys please keep up with the excellent job. I hope to to see many more of you in the 2008 championship. Ikhwan will be in the senior category next year, that is if he compete...(SPM next Year lah!).

Right Yazid,
Let me be the first to register on this thread my heartiest congrats to both Ede and Ikhwan....onwards to the WORLD FINALS!..Hello my friend, this is no ordinary feat. Make no mistake, a big part of the success is attributed to the tireless parents (rain or shine)who were always there as sponsors both financially and mentally! My-kart should take pride that they did their little part to put new talents on the front grid!....mission partly accomplished.

As quoted by my fellow Brother Naza, It's all about Dicipline. I have to say that those two must have loads of it. Without sheer determination, discipline, focus, passion and patience it is a doubt that one could achieve his goals.

Last but not least, Keep up the two of you and do not forget the sacrifices of yer old folks, Without the m, .... guys dream on it.
So Tahniah buat sekali lagi to both of you and to the ever hardworking parents.
This is just the beginning.!!!

Excellent news and a worthy commendations to both drivers and their parents respectively. As mentioned, my-kart only discovered these talents, but the rest is entirely their doing. Without the support, commitment, passion and discipline they would not be where they are. so full credits to them.

so all the best in the world finals.

as for my-kart, we shall keep having these racing platforms to find new talent. it gives me great pride to be see people (male / female, young / old, rich / poor) who come through my-kart achieve things that would not have been thought possible. Let's build on these foundations.

Good job well done Ikhwan and to Yazid. For supporting your son all the way until he has achieved what he wanted. Its good to see Ikhwan joining the best at Dubai for World Finals. this is also true that My-kart has help alot in building a lot of young and local talent in improving the art of racing.

I personally think My-kart members has alot of talented drivers. and it has also groomed many.

Yazid, well done and congratulations !!!

This should be a testimonial used to gain more awarness for my-kart.

Heartiest congratulations to both drivers and parents. As highlighted and clearly demonstrated by the results achieved, success comes from teamwork and dedication, which obviously the perfect ingredients here.

I wish Ede and Ikhwan a long and fruitful success in the motorsports arena and likewise wish their respective parents the best in balancing what only they know is best for their kids (the balance between sports and education)!

Good luck guys Thumbs up

Al-Ain... I think for the grand finals they like to say "dubai" because it's a lot better known internationally... even though dubai is a good 100km++ away.

yazid...oraitttt...i'll try to be there with my camera...hopefully i'll have my new D300 by that time...
my mobile# +971-50-6816928...just drop me a message when you've arrived...
the temperature should be a lot cooler than now...as it is now...it has gone down quite a lot compared to last month...in fact at night time it can get as low as 26*C ...& it will be cooler in end Nov/Dec...
i already checkout the race details earlier...but it looks like nothing much will happen until the last 2 days...when the qualifying & finals will take place...
nevertheless...i'm trying to get my karting kakis here to join me & support Team Malaysia...

BTW...where can I get the Team Shirt for Team Malaysia...i have 1 for the 2005 finals at Lanzarote...bought it at mofaz kartshop in tmn tun...dunno if i can find for this year's shirt tho...

You think the D300 will be available by then? Do you want to be the official Team Malaysia photographer and the official KartingAsia.com photographer? If yes let me know and I'll make sure you get a media pass so you can go track-side for pictures... if you do that I'm sure there'll be a shirt somewhere. Thumbs up Smiling

...I can vouch that Capt. Razmyn will easily exceed your expectation as an official team Malaysia / KartingAsia photographer. You took pics of speeding karts, he took pics of speeding camels. You pilot karts and he pilots B777. Laughing out loud

hahaha...pics of speeding camels!!! LOL!!!

mikko...thanks for the offer...really tempting...but that means i'll have to try & get leave for the whole week...so i can't really confirm now...& also i have limited experience in photographing kart races...
still a newbie myself...but if quality is not expected to be of a pro level...i might want to try lorrr...what more if a free shirt & a track pass is on the offering...hehehe...but gimme some time...gotta check my leave first...
dunno if i can get the D300 by then...looks very much unlikely...tho the shop promised me Nov for the delivery...it'll be good if i can get it before the race else have to use my ol'faithful D50 then...

yazid...looking forward to see you soon...
