Round 06, K2 race report - Udi controls the weather to shine at Shah Alam

Saturday, 2 July 2005
Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit (CCW)

A poor first qualifying result was not enough to deter Udi to claim his second K2 win of the season and in so doing build a strong lead in the K2 championship after 6 rounds.

Behind the relentless Udi, Ashraff Dewal claimed his first ever podium ahead of his golfing pals Brian Eravelly and Yew Siak Jin. Tarmizi and Jason Lu round up the remainder of the top 6 finishers.

Udi's second win places him in a 15 point lead (with 79 pts) over Fazz Rahman. Jules inches closer at 63 pts in third, whilst Jin stays in fourth with 61 pts.

Qualifying honours were spread evenly between Jules Ng, Jin, Udi and Ashraff Dewal.

Fazz, see you in Final B again next round! :p hehehe

Just kidding lah, jangan marah Smile Looks like competition is really getting tough, as Fazz makes his 2nd appearance in Final B. Time to shed 5kg to regain some lost ground?

Looks like a bad trend. 5kgs??? I need to shed much more than that to stop the rot. :p

Fazz did not have the luck.......

Racing this round was pretty clean ( in K2 ) and I think many drivers gave a wide berth to each other. Thankyou.

BM5 beat me on the Final A.......TT on him next!! he he!

Fazz,
Just one suggestion - for the Grand Finals ( the Last Round ), we should have the chance to score DOUBLE the points, and a 20 -25 laps FINAL A. This will make it interesting!

Jules

Thanks for giving me chance to beat you...........hehe.........TT on me no problem.

I support the idea of having a 20-25 laps final, real test on human & machine!

Tarmizi's picture

25 laps should be awesome..hahaha.....but can the machine handle it ?.....only final A?...peace

Jules's picture

The machine MAY fail on you especially if you bash the chain & disc on the kerbs every lap.....and hence this is what racing is all about - CONSISTENT & CLEAN driving.....

If MyKart drivers want to improve their karting - they should also learn this and ALSO learn how to check their kart before each race....racing is not only about driving but also machine, driver preparation & fitness.
