4.1.2 The eligibility criteria will apply.
4.1.3 Approval from General Committee required before inclusion as a K1 participant.
4.2 "Talented Outsiders".
4.2.1 Includes karters who have never joined my-KART events at all, but who may have participated in recognised external events, such as AAM sanctioned events.
4.2.2 Includes owners of private 100cc or 125 cc karts.
4.2.3 The eligibility criteria will apply.
4.2.4 Approval from General Committee required before inclusion as a K1 participant.
4.3 "Invited Guests"
4.3.1 Includes experienced karters, usually known personalities in the motorsports fraternity, who may from time to time, be invited by Kelab my-KART Selangor to participate in K1 level events for promotional purposes.
4.3.2. The eligibility criteria will not apply, because these karters will only be allowed to participate in the K1 event on a "once-off" basis.
4.4 "Leapfroggers"
4.4.1 This refers to Kelab my-KART Selangor K3 Members, who have not participated in K2 events, but wish to participate in K1 events.

Are these 125cc private karts?
SOund interesting would like to try one day..

»RawFlesh:
They be rentals and it's best to try em NOW rather than later, since we all know rental conditions can only go one way and that's DOWN

»edwynlow:
These karts will be handle carefully as it's a private kart. And drivers will be in full responsibility that the kart maintain at its top performance. And not everyone can handle these karts. Only selected by the senior my-karters (the sifus) can drive it for practise and also participate in the K1 series. It would be best if anyone wants to get to K1, go to K2 first. You can't run when you can't even walk.

Yup, it is very likely that K3 grads will be required to race in at least a few rounds in K2 to allow Kelab my-kart selection committee to evaluate the driver's competency and behaviour under higher "racing stress" condition before joining the K1 category.
A decision on what is meant by a few rounds in K2 will be announced very soon.
To add to Edwyn's explanation, the K1 race will use full racing specs CRG chassis powered by Rotax JMax 125cc engine. Kelab My-kart Selangor have agreed in principle to use these karts for 2008 - 2009 season and these karts will be made EXCLUSIVE for Kelab My-kart races only, meaning it is not available to others. Obviously, there is a price to pay for this exclusivity including being responsible for cost of damages....which is quite pricey! Hence the reason to be sure that drivers are well prepared to race on these karts...well, one of the main reasons...

naza,
but how about practise? can K3 or K2 drivers practise in the 125 in order to get familiar with the 125?
- Login or register to post comments
»naza:
K2 drivers will be eligible to practice on the 125 upon showing the my-kart ID. K3 drivers with my-kart ID must have first raced a few rounds in the K2 series as explained above. Edwyn, this clarification is subject to the club's approval next week. Tungguuuuuu!....tak lama

This would be the right thread to publish the recent Kelab my-kart Selangor's decisons on Eligibilty, terms and conditons governing participation in the K1 series.

Sabelt,
CRG - K1 is certainly coming... Meanwhile I was told that it is a requirement that K1 participants must be a fully paid member of Kelab my-kart Selangor.

Folks,
The proposed rules and regulations for the K1 series as agreed during the club General Committee meeting held on Sat 15th Dec has been added above.
Feel free to post your comments/reactions to the proposal. We need to implement these rules before the first race on 12th Jan 2008.
Please focus on the sections 3.0 to 3.5 which cover the "Eligibility criteria".
Also note that I've excluded the cost of participation - a figure was proposed during the meeting but as I understand, it's still undecided and subject to further negotiations with CK.
I hope the above makes sense ... I'm not a lawyer so not really good at writing up these things...but have gone out with a few female lawyers in the past, so there...

I dun think you went out with enough lawyers, judging from your legal knowledge. Think you were too busy with doing illegal stuff with them anyway.
