Awal Muharram 1429 - CRG Testing & Chicken Wing Sesssion ends with a Stormy Makan outing!
What an awesome way to spend Awal Muharram. The much anticipated inaugral round for K1 is only 2 days away, and the CRG karts had to be quality control tested to ensure that they are ready for race day!
As suspected, it wasn't difficult to get volunteers to test these karts out. We assembled at CK at 1pm and by that time, only 7 karts were available with 4 ready for testing.
My first order of business was to process some of the payments that needed to be made as prerequisite to race - membership, security deposit and even the Event Fee. I brought out my new "Mobile Office" which contains all the financial documents and the cash kitty for my-KART - you'll see this on Race Day!
After accepting payments..and by the way we now have 12 out of 18 participants paid up which means loads of cash ... i promptly closed my Mobile Office and quickly suited up.
Suggested to Naza that we put some order to the testing - recorded down the chassis numbers and list of testers, and the aim was to test each kart at least by 4 different ppl.
Testing itself was great! Today, the level of excitement among the K1 participants has indeed increased many fold! Most participants have now tested at least 4 karts, and we now know the characteristics of each one.
However, things will be different on race day, because testing conditions and race conditions are vastly different.
As an example, I was happily testing one kart when suddenly Mr Desmond Its Gooooodz turned up next to me in another CRG. My race instinct suddenly kicked in and we raced for about a lap - and I think in that time my adrenaline just shot up and I nearly forgot I was in a high performance kart...forgot braking points, power, etc....this could happen to anyone, so...for Round 1, my advise to all is to take it easy ok...but if you see someone in a blue Alpinestars suit and blue Sol helmet...please give way..heheh
When Rainman turned up there was fear that it may rain, but he assured us that it would only rain at 6pm. Armed with this knowledge, the group ended the afternoon with a fun "chicken wing" session on 80ccs, and proceeded to the MMZ mamak restaurant for makan.
Guess what...at precisely 6pm, the heavens opened up and unleashed all its fury upon Shah Alam...even MMZ had its shutters down to prevent the sideways rain getting into the restaurant....such is the power of Mumu!
Makan session was gooodz...most of us opted for the various Sups...daging, tulang, buntut, and nasi lemak ayam kampung. As I write this at nearly 11pm, I am still stuffed from dinner at 7pm!...whoah...
Anyway I'm praying for a quick and easy Friday and fast forward to Sat morning!

Mumu was under pressure in recent weeks by sceptical mykarters whether his rain mumbo jumbo will be any good. So that was his response....6 pm on the dot, the sky came down with all its fury....I guess he was that accurate!
