During Heat 1, I was at the start of the grid with Razak beside me (Kart #3). It started off well, where I was tailing Razak all the way. I was able to catch up with him during corners. Once the karts start exiting the straight.. it was bye bye to Razak. The kart I was driving, was sliding at every corners and the brakes was like very minimal even though I was giving it a 100%. Slowly James overtook me. And then another driver (forgot his name) overtook me as well.. and left me at 4th place. Couldn't catch up with them as their karts are more stable (I guess) and I wasn't really know what I was doing with the weight transfer. So Heat 1, 4th Place.
Heat 2, I was starting from the back of the pack (6th - Kart #9) with Razak beside me again. And again, due to my heavyweight, I was only able to tail the rest of the group with Razak behind me. I was planning to overtake Nurhafizah after the chicane when the incident where James flipped and flew off the track involving Jac as well. The race stopped. Restart came in and its off again this time with the same. Starting from the back of the pack. I could hardly remember how it start. But all I remembered was after 2 or 3 laps, I was behind Jac and Nurhafizah was behind me. The three of us was battling each other. I was a great battle. At some point where I made mistakes, and I reckon Nurhafizah has the advantage to overtake me, she didn't. So I was tailing Jac as close as possible at every straight and every corner. And finally I overtook him at the 1st corner (I think) Hahaha~ And from there onwards, they wave me bye bye! Hehehe~ And I was remaining at 3rd place at a slightly nice gap from Jac and Nurhafizah. And with these 2 heats, overall brings me to Group A. Yeehaa!
As for the Finals, I was being place in the 2rd with my previous kart #9. I was the 2nd last guy to choose. No more karts for me to choose and since kart #9 was performing well during my 2nd heat, I chose it again. I had a good start and slipped to the front on the 1st corner. After 3 corners and we went to the straights, 2 guys passes me and brought me to 3rd. Then I was leading the rest till the last corner, and basically all the other lightweight guys just overtook me one by one on the straights leading to the 1st corner. This means I am last! (so sad) But keeping my head down, and roughly know how the weight transfer works, I slowly catch up with the 3 guys in front me as I was closing in on the corners on the same lap they overtook me. Coming out from the chicane, all three of them was battling their ass off and I was following them as close as possible. All three of them went wide at the parabola, and that is where I made my move and overtook all 3 of them at one shot.. OOhhhYeaaaa! From there onwards, I was battling with the 4th placing guy. He was replaced by his friend (Fazz know who he is). Both of us was battling at every straight and every corner. He overtook me at the straights (he was so light) and I overtook him at the corners as he always runs wide. As this battling was going on till the last lap. It was so intense on the last lap. He overtook me at the straights leading to the 1st corner. He runs wide at the 1st corner and I overtook him. Playing defensively I have to stick myself to the center of the track and was covering my lines for turn 2 and turn 3. As soon as we were on the straights, he overtook me because he was light and he lead me all the way till the parabola, where he went wide. And I overtook him again and lead him 2 corners remaining. There wasn't an opportunity to overtake at the corners because the straights were very short. As soon as I was exiting the final corners, I try to quickly look where he was. He was at my left side picking up speed and I slowly cover my line by blocking him. I can hear his engine rev slows down a bit as he lifts off the throttle. And then I maintain my line on the left and he try to overtake me on the right. That little lift off costs him probably 2 or 3 inches away from the finish line when I passed the line. I was so happy that I was punching the air and going at full speed that I forgot the 1st corner is near. Hahaha! Lucky I was in time to brake and the kart was dancing before going into the corner.
Overall, I have a great 1st 100cc race and honestly it was scary!!

INCIDENT REPORTS.
Can those involved in the incidents in K2 write the Incident Reports? There's at least 2 I know of:
- James Higgins/Jac Soo/Hafizah - with a kart flip involved.
- Emmy's incident?

»edwynlow:
From the moment I saw this 3 karts heading for the 1st chicane which is a left hand turn, Jac was on the left, James was beside Jac, and Hafizah was behind James. The moment I put my head up (I was actually putting my head down at the exit - trying to get more power on the exit), I saw James and Jac had contact. What contact - I got no idea, because Hafizah was blocking my view. As both guy's kart had a contact, Jac's kart was facing away from the chicane (which means pointing into James direction). James was trying to avoid Jac by going out wide but Harfizah was at the same time jamming her brakes and going into the grass. So (I think) by normal reaction, James turn his kart around; away from Harfizah to avoid contact with her. But James front right tire clipped on Jac's front right tire and James went flying in the air and turtle at the same time. He landed on the mud in the turtle position and slided about 1 or 2 meters into the tire barriers. It all happened so fast, I am not 100% sure this is what exactly happened.

Congrats to all winnners !!!!
wahhhh k2 entry list really shrinked compared to last year !!!
with 2 or 3 more drivers leaving k2 after round 2, me think k2 lists are really shirnking.

Well, we have a massive K3 group. Maybe some of them will upgrade themselves to K2, who knows? Less K2 drivers can be goodzzz too.. This means I got more chance! hahaha!

Emmy's incident took place at turn 1, she tried to overtook somebody which forced her to late-braking at that corner which caused her kart to understeer straight to tyre barrier. (she went too fast & too late)
Took her to the hospital once we reach Ampang yesterday & x-rays shows no fractures except for tissue torns, no worries she'll be back for round two

Zul, thanks for the update and glad she's OK. Torn tissues hurt though so I guess she'll be looking for some TLC from her hubby over the next few days!..

INCIDENT REPORT:
wasnt sure who went into contact with who..i was focusing to get thru the shicane and hopefully maintaining my position at least
.both drivers infront of me ,jac and james higgins were fighting side by side to get d lead..and suddenly..... *bedebushhhhhh...i saw both karts went into contact.james's kart went up and flying turrning upside down in d sky and landed on d grass with him below and d kart on top of him.
.
As he and (with kart which was still on top of him) slidesssss on d grass ,he was constantly kicking his kart ,to get out and away from his kart ,not to be trapped underneath
And during all these ,i was exactly behind them ,dont have time to lari to d left ,cause they were other drivers so i brake navigate to my right(grass) ,slide a litlle and luckily didnt hit james nearby.
After all d *bedebushh and *bangsss finishes ,i look around and saw a few 2/3 karts escaped d commotion continued with d race while another a few spun on d track.James was than already standing by d tyres and i went over asking how he was.JAMES IS A SUPERMAN.he's ok.
oh ,just to add ,LUCKILY JAMES WAS WEARING A SUIT.if not ,with all d sliding...ouccchh!! imagine d injuries he could have suffered.could be worse.
Thought that i missed my chance of racing in that round due being involved in that incident.but luckily they RESTARTED it
Still ,gratefull James was ok ,everyone was ok.

Well, I didn't stopped and help but maintain my kart at a very slow pace waiting for the instructions from the marshal. Reason, as discussed on the previous incident with Lynda, it is best to leave it to the medics (which I remember did not appear on site - was doing their sunbathing).

»saa73:
Fizah - thanks for the report. This is interesting. We know then that Jac and James' kart came into contact, and they were both going side by side into the same corner.
I would like to hear from both Jac and James on how this happened. Two karts fighting to go into one corner...somebody has to give way. Perhaps in this instance the lack of experience from both karters may be a factor, I don't know.
If I got the info right, Jac was on the inside and James outside. But not sure who was in the lead going into the corner. You would usually let the person in the lead through and fight for the next corner, and not both into the corner side by side.
Will need the feedback from both Jac and James.

INCIDENT REPORT:
According to My-Kart start/finish line, Lap 1 after the green flag, James ran very off course on Turn No. 5 (Hairpin), so I manage to get infront of him, I left sufficient space for him to recover back to the track on the short straight, that time at least 1/2 kart infront of him. So before we go into the 1st chicane, should be 2/3 of it, becoz of my weight, I have no time to measure the distance because we going into turn 6 but I am definitely sure is not side by side.
I am away from the apex as normal racing line and suddenly feel a BANG on my left rear wheel and sliding to right side (not left), I managed to recover back in a second (counter-steer and throttle) and I saw James and his kart flying on my right hand side...
After all the chicanes I raised my hands and hope the race stop immediately...
Very scary experience and I am sincerely glad James is ok
Note: According to Edwyn behind us, he said thats a 2nd contact cause the kart flip but I not sure about it because everything happended behind me.
James please clarify if I miss out anything , cheer Bro

once I stopped the K2 race and prepared for the restart... I noticed that Jac's kart left/front tyre bracket thingy connected to the steering rod was badly bent, I supposed it was due to their incident.
Jac: kart #31 send for repair
James: Kart #22 sprayed off all the mud & use back

I am on the right side (outside) and James on the left side (inside) on the short straight.
As what I write in my report we are not side by side, anyway hope James can clarify...
