Chicken Wings 02/08
Extra extra.. Hear all about it! Chicken Wings is here again!!
To all karters, new or senior karters,
It's another chicken wings session to brush up your skills or get some new tips and advice from senior karters. I will really appreciate if those who are new to karting, or new to My-Kart; whom intend to join the next round (Round 2) dated on February 2nd, 2008; will attend this chicken wings session. Hopefully we will have at least one session where we will have a proper pre-race for all drivers (supervised by senior karters) and look out on some mistakes and the don't(s). So that incident that happen at Round1 will not happen again or will be minimal on the actual race day. Also we will have heaps of time to teach or assist you guys on how to do the actual "rolling start". Reason why this can't be done on actual race day? Because everyone is busy with organizing the karts, the groups, the race and etc.
About the time, currently I will put it in the morning, as it tends to rain in the afternoon. But will be changed based on majority (maybe the seniors can advise on this). Also I will checked on the availability of the track when the day is near.
Committee of My-Kart, please feel free to changed the content if you find anything missing or something shouldn't be there. Thanks.

Naza,
I know you have many things on hand, but since you at the Wings Commander, should we talk about a plan or program for this coming wings? Talk through email or a uong cha spot? Appreciated.

edwyn - thanks for this.
the chicken wings agenda should be split for newbies and oldies...
for newbies, we need to cover the basics:
1/ a bit about my-kart
2/ safety
3/ attitude
4/ basic techniques
5/ DRIVERS series brief
for oldies:
1/ refining skills - close company wings!
2/ volunteering for events... roles
apa lagi?
as for date... hiayaa... i will be at the track on 26th with some newbies from my company...

Edwyn,
Thanks for initiating this. Jan 27th is the weekened before rd 2 and I dont see any problems. Fazz's idea for newbies and oldies is good. If need be, suggest a yumcha date next week.

»edwynlow:
Well, initially I suggested to Fazz on having an official chicken wings session on the weekend before each round. And he was ok with it. So I hope more ideas can be implement into this official chicken wings. And I hope and I think everyone hopes that My-Kart can take a step further this year.

Naza,
Will wait for the uong cha date. Maybe keeping this date personal to a number of ppl and contact by sms. It will be more like a meeting than relax uong cha session.

Really? ok.. I shall make a trip there to check it out this weekend..
How about Sepang? Haven't been there for quite a while, anyone going there this sat/sun?

»edwynlow:
Not sure if anyone will be karting at Sepang. Usually the guys will hang out at CK.
27th Jan is basically an official chicken wings session whereby, a pre-race will be held (yet to be confirm) in order that drivers will be supervise under senior committees so that no one is doing anything reckless on the track. For example: like pushing drivers out of their line, t-boning, etc. And if so, drivers will be given tips and advice of what the do(s) and don't(s)

Currently the Official Chicken Wings Session Program is still under development. So each time we will try to add something new to it and hopefully able to have a complete program as soon as possible. But all this will need to be certified by the My-Kart committees.
Of course, we can have several pre-race depending on the situation on the actual day.

I can't make it on the 27Jan, need to attend Joey Yap's Astrology for 2008 workshop on that day.. &%#$...
its good to have a few pre-race... so ppl who can't attend the one can attend the other

»edwynlow:
Just to clarify; chicken wings is not about just pre-race. It's basically a time where everyone meet up for some real fun of karting rather than pressure during race. So it won't be just one round. It will be up-to-you rounds depends on the thickness of your wallet

»saa73:
yeah we need more ladies...there's not enough in my-KART, so much so that even some men have to pretend to be ladies (i heard that Azlin is actually a guy!!)
Incidentally there's a lot of ladies who are members of the "my-KART Group" in Facebook....I posted a message today urging them to join us...

Des, why don't you get your girlfriend to join in rather than pamper you all day at the track...

Please dont be shy to let us know your karting experience. This will help us to tailor and emphasise certain topics to real nwebies (some are buayas in disguise...i know a few). Oldies can teach each other and also the newbies too.
It would be quite effective to assign newbies to senior karters on that day and coach them on the basics.
