Newbie here saying hi to everyone !

Hi all,

Just saw this websites segment in Engine Block on Astro yesterday and only then i knew that KL has a Go Kart club!
As almost all of my friends are not even close to interested in this hobby i figured this is the best way for me to join and have fun.
I have only driving in-door karting twice in the states for fun and since been hooked on.
I hope to join you guys in 30th of this month for the rookie session.
As this is my first time doing it in Msia, is it needed that i bring a race suit and helmet? Or what are the stuff i should prepare?
Previously in the states, we pay for the session and the venue will include race suit, gloves, helmet, mask.
Is it the same with Msia?
BTW my name is Peter >_<

Welcome to the club and welcome to Malaysia

I had my first race last week and can say that you will not be disappointed Smiling

Regarding the gear, you will find (as I did) that in Malaysia, Health and Safety tends to be your own responsibility, and is optional Eye

Helmets and shower caps are available at the circuit.

Suit and gloves are highly recommended, but you have to provide them yourself. Looking at some of the incidents it appears to generally be the incocent party that comes out worse, and it's better to make the investment now, otherwise you could be paying a bigger price in later years.

Thanks for the advise.
Any idea on how much i should be looking to pay for a helmet?
Can we get a fairly good one which is FIA or Snell (correct spelling?) spec for under rm1000?

If you are looking for helmet with those specs.. you will be looking at above RM1000. Most of the my-karters are using motorbike helmets. So maybe you can look into that.. those motorbike helmets are fairly cheap compare to FIA Helmet..

Actually I am intending to get one too.. got poisoned by Naza and Zul.. btw.. welcome to the croc pack! my name is edwyn

Hello bro,

Give yourself a reward for that talented thing on your shoulders. After a few months and now on the podium,......its more than justifiable!

(pssst!, have you heard about someone saying how much is your head worth)
