a bit of a mixed bag event for me. mainly because i had a good day, except for the silly mistake in the final dropping me from 3rd to 9th in the end.
qualy one
started 3rd on the grid and ended 3rd. the kart was ok, and i was happy with the level of grip than i was during round 6 - even though the the weather was as cool. played around with the tyre pressures a bit this time round.. took a bit of risk and it suited my driving style. naza took himself out of the running early on, so i had one less competitor to worry about. then after a few laps, azlan and ashraff harassed me, but happily ashraff out braked himself trying to pass me... so another less competitor. tried hard at the start to make up ground, but danny and mizi had more pace than me, so i had to keep my consistency to ensure that i finish well. azlan was closing in towards the end, but i had sufficient gap to keep 3rd.
qualy two
qualy two was one of my best races in K1 so far. i started 8th on the grid, but by the end of the first lap i had made up ground to 3rd. passed a few guys who were hitting each other... so thanks. by the second lap i moved up to 2nd, and chased zul from there. got close enough but zul did not make any mistake and i finished 2nd.
final a
made it to final a!! i was so pleased with myself having qualified 4th overall. many years ago, i would have been quite unhappy about that... but these days, i celebrate any small good results. my 2008 season has been a bit up and down. i have not been comfortable with the tyres since the start of the year, but this round i was more at ease. so i was having great hopes for a good result in the final. once again, i made a good start from 4th on the grid. i was staying close to yusnee (then in the lead) and muhaymin, who was climbing all over yus' rear bumper. on the second lap turn 2, i saw an opportunity to get alongside muhaymin. muhaymin looked like he was lining up to slide on yus' inside into 2. seeing this, i opted to stay on muhaymin's outside and on the racing line into 2... hoping to surprise both if they tangled. instead muhaymin aborted the attack and came back on the racing line, which caught me unready, as i was not yet prepared to brake... so i had to quickly dive onto muhaymin's inside but lost control and spun. entirely my mistake as i thought i could pass muhaymin into 2 under braking... instead i made a mess. this dropped my down last and lapped, as i struggled to re-start. i joined at the tail end of the field as they lapped me. danny too had problems and dropped one lap down behind me. so i finished 9th.
a bit of a bummer this round as i knew i should have done better. sigh. next time then.

Q1
The kart farting the whole time (Desmond, do you have something to do with this?) But at least I was compensated by not being last in the group.
Q2
Refer Q1
Final B
The kart decided not to fart around anymore, mysteriously. So then I was able to concentrate more on driving. Had a great clean battle with Raymond although it was not a battle for points. Wish we can do that more often.

Yup. We spend too much time on warm up laps 3 laps if im not mistaken in final champagne...
Had a bad start in Q1 which cause me spun infront of pit building while battling with desmond and mumu on 3rd position. If bad result happen in Q2, it would end me up in final coke.
I have warned mumu to watch out with his unethical blocking move in Q2. Dangerous la brother! He agreed and apologized with that. Finished 3rd.
Managed to squeeze in final champagne spot even though had a bad qualifying in both sessions. Took kart 'zero' in final A which I have no idea the history of the kart and maintained 7th till the end right behind my partner Zul. Luckily that this kart that I've never driven before plus bad tyre, i have no complain but it's just lack of grip and keep up with the front pack.
Still looking for 1st win in K1.

Heard you got tangled with an overzealous driver in front warming up his tyres....
GUys, I have said this before - if you ( anyone applicable okay, no one specific ) think that's the best way to warm up your tyres....PLEASE, do it on half the side of the track...( your assigned side ) and PLEASE make sure, no one is close behind you!!!!
Bob told me, he was instructed to collect RM600 even if a tie-rod is bent.....which is harsh but this goes to remind you to be careful! To lose it on the warm-up is aiyoh....

....no, I was the overzealous one and its a lesson that will be difficult to forget!

Q1 - started end of the pack..managed to eat some position during the start ..I was pretty much struggling with grip and the pack of punch my kart was giving..Then at turn 3 or somewhere i slammed the door at Shaeran which resulted poor ol guy to eat dirt..Then Brian E was defensing his position all the way..respect la this fella..bumped tyre to tyre.eheheheh..finished comfortable 4th.
Q2 - Terrible epic..started pole ended second last..Good pressure from Yusnee and Ramseyz at one point i think..Yusnee tailed close after the parabolic and nudged me at the braking point.not so bad..i spun right after that ...aalaaamaak!
Final Heat- I just wanna runaway .

Q1
Started 2nd from back of grid and was struggling with a spluttering kart. Tried to push hard but spun out when the power refused to kick in whilst the back end was sliding away. Simultaneously the 'crimped' battery connector became 'uncrimped' and I sat patiently at the track side whilst it was fixed. Rejoined the race 2 or 3 laps down but the kart just spluutered its way back to the pits.
Q2
Just when things couldn't get any worse, they did! This time the starter electrics gave some problems and the kart stalled on lap 2? Was 1 lap down whilst it was fixed and after that the 'spluuter' seemed to disappear and the power was back! Managed to chase Shaeran for the remaining laps.
Final [usual] Group B
Still within my comfort zone in Group B, I used Kart #8. Was a great kart and performed well. I started at the back of the grid and quickly made my way up to 4th place but I was being pressured by Naza and Shaeran. Managed to keep Naza behind after his first attempt to pass, but soon after Shaeran passed both Naza and myself. having given the opening to Shaeran the rest of the sharks seized the opportunity and passed one by one... I think I mentally gave up at this point and came home 3rd from last - at least it was an improvement from Rd 6!!!

my story
Q1
started 2nd along side danny, pretty much straight foward race, maintained my 2nd spot all the way to the end, cant catch danny tho,. still my kart lack in top speed.
Q2
started along danny again (danny kacau ar) haha..nightmare. 1st lap, entering the chicane azlan break test all the back guys, resulting in few karters spinning and running onto the grass. got back in the race...overtook dad, izrul and was ahead of danny.so got 6th.
final A
Spending 3 laps to overtake azlan and another 3 laps to overtake desmond and abang zul. very exciting and close race. I choose kart No.3 cuz desmond took our default kart. Gain experience of removing 20kgs worth of ballast that felt like hard labor.....in the end got 3rd, right behind yusnee. cheers

Q1.
Started 1st, got away till flag.
Q2.
Started last. Spun around as per Mizi's report.. then restarted, overtook Izrul and then the limping Naza. Finished 7th.
FA.
Was on formation lap3, just as about to enter the parabolic corner my engine ceased. Pooffff! there goes my championship lead... I watched helplessly as they went on to start. Mech checked and replaced the spark plug. I was down by 2 laps. Rejoined back on track as the leading pack heading towards me. So I tag along them for the fun. Sorry kacau daun Des and Mizi.. hehe... if only there were blue flags.

Q1
Started 7th on the grid behind the usual suspects, during formation lap tested the brakes few times (since that was our main problem in round 6) = good, tire grip = ‘so-so’ and the engine was fine at low ~ mid (hehehe… gonna score some points today)
Once the race started (after few laps) noticed the engine splutter when exiting corners especially turn 1, 3 and hairpin after the parabolic.
Thanks to Bro Naza & Ashraff problems, I managed to get 5th place (OK lah!)
** Immediately after the race I persuade Bro Bob to ‘jampi’ the kart & it worked!!
Q2
Knowing the true potential of kart #8 during Seyz stint in group B, am determine to collect more points.
This time around I started on the second row behind YY, when the race started both me and Izrul defended our position... at turn 1 we were side by side (good team work bro!)
Somewhere between turn 2 and 3, I was able to overtook Izrul and shortly after that it was YY’s turn (thanks guys)
Patrick the “Viet-kong man” was ahead (man!! hard to catch lah this dude) after a few laps shadowing his every moves I managed to take his position.. from there onwards I push as hard as I can even harder when knowing that Fazz & the gang managed to penetrate my ‘Muscleman’, ‘Thundercat’ & Viet-Kong guy
it was my first win in K1!
**Kart #8 was superb!
Final A
I clipped Mumu’s rear tire resulting me to loose my front bumper and the kart splutter all the way to the checkered flag.
6th place was GOOD!

Q1 , Tarmizi told me to set a tyre pressure of 0.8 , did not listen as i wanna try the grip level on 0.9 because the track condition was not grippy on a gloomy whether. And hell i was wrong ! kart was oversteering and sliding the moment i accel out of the apex. After a few laps, i have to adjust driving style to only gently squeeze on the accel to avoid power slide. And MUMu was all the way hustling me behind. finally he managed to overtake me and i finished 2nd.
Q2, Set the tyre pressure to 0.8 .. the grip was sooo muccchh bettterrrr... Started behind the grid and managed to climb up with ease. Finished 4th . cant believe what can 0.1 do to so much to the kart's handling.
Final A
This is a very competitive race.. started in mid field.. with my partner in crime starting right behind me. saw a bumper flying up on T1, at one point managed to climb to 3rd position only to know that my partner in crime is husssling me all the way especialy during the straights. defended and dog fight for a good 3 laps.. but finally he managed to slip thru. Finsihed an eventful 4th .

Geezz, really out of fitness last weekend, still had body-aches after 4 days. Basically have not driven a car since May 25 (except for the short drive to the track earlier in the morning) and got straight into a kart the next morning after arriving near midnight the night before.
Qualy 1
. Just try to keep it clean the rest of the race and finishing 6th is a happy ending for a tough qualy with YY pressuring me all the way.
Started from the last row and boy, the kart has basically no tire grip due to cold tires + wrong tire pressure. Didn’t realized that Naza is out b4 the start becos I was busy trying to warm-up the tires as much as possible.
Managed to pip ahead of YY after the 1st turn but was stuck behind Zul & Bombe. Managed to sneak pass Bombe when Zul made a move on Bombe on the straights. Tried keeping up with Zul but having a hard time controlling the kart as it was understeering on left turns and badly oversteering on right turns.
Basically couldn’t charge into the corners and have to have extended lift-off on all corners, I was basically doing Tokyo Drift on the parabolic despite lifting-off just after the start of the parabolic and only step-on the gas near the end of the parabolic.
When Ashraff spun off, it was an early Xmas present
Qualy 2
Started from the front row beside YY but with a lower tire pressure set by Ray in the earlier race. The handling of the kart improved by many folds by this change (which is about 85-90% perfect to my personal taste).
Starting in P2 but manage to keep ahead of YY after turn 1 and got into the inside line for turn 2. Remember managed to stay ahead for 1 lap but overtook by Zul on the 2nd or 3rd lap and followed by Fazz on the parabolic as I was struggling slightly loose rear on right turns. Managed to keep-up with them and tried to sneak pass Fazz when the opportunity arise but at the same time I have to fend off Ashraff who was sniffing up my rear. Ashraff managed to overtake on his second attempt at turn 1 on the lap 6 but he ran wide and I managed to stay ahead until turn 2 but I have to give-in as he had the inside line for turn 2. All the sudden I have to take a emergency avoiding action as his chain came off when I was nearly directly behind him. Couldn’t really remember what happened in the split second but I believe my front right tire touched his kart and the engine of my kart nearly died off.
By the time I recovered, Zul & Fazz have left quite a gap between them and me. Tried to chase them but I ran out of laps. Finishing 3rd is a great joy.
Final A
At last! In final A!!
Started at 9 placing. With Chooz out, there is 1 buaya less to fight with. Somehow the kart has lost the grip it has in qualy 2 but still much better than qualy 1. With no gap to sneak thru, I just keep up with the pack bringing up the rear.
Was smiling broadly when Fazz spun off and Ramsey making a mistake by going wide. Sneaked past Ramsey and managed to stay ahead of Ramsey & Fazz (who rejoined in 1 lap later) and catching up Zul till around lap 6 where I ran-off into the grass after turn 1 when I lost the rear-end.
Finishing 8th is a good result for me despite not having practices.
Now hoping that the rd9 date is not changed.
