2009 K2 race - Exclusive karts
Dear fellow karters,(especially those in K3 and K2)
I thought that it would be useful for Kelab my-kart to gauge your response to the idea of evolving the current K2 races using 100cc rental karts to using karts exclusive for my-kart K2 drivers, the same concept currently adopted for the K1 races. This idea has come about in the wake of persistent dissatisfaction on the state of rented 100cc karts. Please take note of the following when writing your responses:
1. Chassis : 10 nos. (Swiss Hutless / CRG / Mike Wilson)
2. Drivers : 20 ( 2 drivers per kart for the entire season)
2. Engine : New air cooled 100cc PRD.
3. Proposed Start date : Jan 2009
4. Exclusive for my-kart K2 races
5. Ballast will be use (driver+kart must weigh minimum 160kg)
6. Race Fee : almost same as for K1, subject to change come Jan 2009
7. Damage deposit : RM 300.00 (RM 600.00 for K1)
If you do have other options, please tell us.

Looking at success of K1, this would be the way to go with K2.

Views from the current crop of K3 drivers aspiring to join K2 next season are very welcome!.....come on!
Hint: This idea can materialise if we have at least 20 regular K2 drivers committed to race in every round.

Good idea but can I honestly ask if all of you in K1 happy with the karts nowadays?
This answer will pave the way on how u want to negotiate your deal for an exclusive K2.....
I can assure u AP will start talking on some long term contract for K1 soon.....I think u better tackle this first before having lofty ideas for K2. How I know? well.....
anyhow, just an advice, no a wet blanket.

sounds great!!! YIPEEE!!! ballast are a nice thing ^_^... one thing tho... if u r getting exclusive karts... will they be properly maintained?? im just worried that overtime it will be the same as the current k2 karts... i mean.. if we are already paying RM170 for broken/worned out karts... how well can they maintain these new ones if the pricing is similar or the same?!?

Maintenance: CK assigned a specific group of mechanics to the K1 karts. We expect the same for K2 when it become exclusive. Secondly, my-kart collects feedback / reports from K1 drivers after each race and these reports were transmitted to the mechanics for rectification. We than monitor the progress and status of rectifications ahead of the next race. The K1 driver may also rent their assigned karts for testing and practice, thus further reducing the chances of an ill prepared kart ahead of the next race.

Agree that it is not perfect but it sure beats the crappy 100cc karts hands down 10 fold.

My vote goes for this exclusivity proposal, though I am not sure how exclusive we can get CK to agree with (or what we can tolerate with). FYI, I saw a few K1 karts running for rental the next day after Rd8!
Until then, I am considering to jump to K1 directly for 2009 - pending committee approval.

... my-kart's crime prevention unit have been notified! However, there are many privately owned karts that look very similar to our K1 karts, but thanks for alerting us.

Bro Rizal, thanks for the alert. That is very easy to identify, just help us to check next time if that is a power valve at the back of the Rotax cylinder, ours Junior max does not come with the red color power valve.

Guys,
The proposed 2009 K2 exclusive program will not be possible (AP's condition)if we dont have about 20 drivers committed to it.
The Roll Call, subject to reconfirmation thus far :
1) Chris - maybe
2) Faibs - appeared like a Yes.
3) Rizal Khalid - maybe
4) Azizi - appeared like a Yes.
5) Ruben - appeared like a Yes
6) Zainy - appeared like a Yes
7)
8)

K3 drivers who have completed a full season and want to 'upgrade' to K2 may also add their names to the list. Nicco?

Role Call.. common K2 drivers?! If I'm needed for the masses.. ok la.. go thru exclusive K2 first (before jumping to K1 -- should be around rm120 right

In respect of the ballasting, what would be the minimum driver weight before they could expect to receive ballast?
Cheersburgers

In K1, minimum weight is 160 kg (kart + driver) at all times. Subject to final confirmation, I would expect the same minimum weight to apply for K2.
