Another miserable outing for me.

Q1 : got kart 11 which was bad. Had the top speed (moreless) but pickup is awful. I was running 2nd or 3rd when I had to avoid somebody spinning. That costed me a gazillion places! I fought w a few but I lost to my son, Aiman. Couldnt catch him. I guess I did something rite Sticking out tongue Ended up in 7th.

Q2 : Another horrible outing. Got kart 20. after 3 laps or so, the engine went.. had to tow to the pits to change karts. took kart 24 which is quite ok but steering is really loose. if there were 5 more laps, i would be able to catch the last person and overtook him. As it was.. I was LAST!

It was so hot and I was so tired and frsutrated that I didnt care about whats happening. I really couldnt do anything else, except take a nap Sticking out tongue

Final B : Aiman got into final A. Wonder if father-son can change place Sticking out tongue Started from the 3rd row with kart 16. During the 1st lap scuffle, I had to play it safe and pick my battle. dived in a few corners to take one or two battling karts, safely of course. I was 2nd and chasing Afif for the lead since lap 3 and getting closer. If there were 5 more laps, I would have taken him and earn me 1 championship point.. but it was not meant to be. 3 races down the drain. From 4th overall, now i'm 7th! Boohoo!

Err.. whats that I hear about K3 EXCLUSIVE?! Sticking out tongue

My first race with my-kart after a few invitations from fellow HPCers. Thanks!

As for the race, didn't do too well but it was indeed fun! Was blocked many times throughout the turns but when it came to the straights, my weight post a disadvantage against the 45kgs.

Gotta say, a well organized event and hopefully will be able to join more races in the future. I still remember those days when I used to kart a lot and wish there were something like this. Great job guys!

Round 10 is very bad for me..... First qualifying I got last place coz accident someone hit me. I go to pit and change kart but this time kart so slow. I came back 2nd time to pit and change another kart. Ok la this kart, but no so fast cannot chase other driver already leave so far away behind. I think 3 laps. 2nd qualifying I got 4th position and just enter final B. Win final B just nothing for me. Got 1 point only. My target enter final A in round 10 but not achieve. This is second time I win final B. This is my 4th time this year I join this event since round 7. However congratulation to Afiq win round 10. I will come round 3 replacement race Nov 29. My kart Mega Mad Endurance I will not join. Good luck to all drivers. Do the best..... Smiling

hah..I was like having sunday drive. There is one kid in black suit that always overtakes me *wink*wink*... Eye *sigh* Puzzled Have to cut down on my daily dosage of pork la.

IMHO,
Newbies shud be brief on blocking and overtaking ethics la..I've noticed that Stevo was blocked more then twice on every corners..ha.. Embarrassed even me also.I bumped onto onto Jonathan Kan too.He even gave me a fist sign...LOL sorry dude. Smiling

As seen on the standing chart..it wasn't a bad day after all. Thumbs up
Too bad,my throttle cable came off during the last heat. The Kart 24 IS fast. So its was a fun day with fun peoples around.

Can't wait for the next round... Thumbs up

Just a question in regards to the point system. Trying to understand how it works. I know it really matter to me since I joined in the end of the 2008 season but would be good to know for next season.

This is what I got from Round 10 and the only race this 2008 season.
Qualifying Ranking - K3/70 : 8 points
Final Race Result : 0 points
Final Race Result - K3/70 : 9 points
Overall Standings after Round 10 : 0 points, qualifying 8
K3/70 Standings after Round 10 : 0 points, qualifying 8

I understand how the rest works except for the following.
Wouldn't the K3/70 Standings after Round 10 be 9 points as shown in Final Race Result - K3/70 OR does it follow the overall standings??

The points that count are the ones we get during the final race. The distribution of points is for the top 15 finishers only. So, if final A has 15 drivers, nobody in final B will gain any. If final A has 10 drivers, there would be a balance of 5 point scoring position in Final B.

For Rd10, in your case, you ended up in final B (same as me). Final A had 15 drivers, but one driver dnf. so the top finisher in final B (afif, I was 2nd Sad) got the solidatary one point for the overall championship race.

I agree with stevo and zoggee. I too have been almost forced off the track on numerous occasions. twice on the straights and once in round 10. Was going into the parabolic and i was already beside jonathan kan and i had the inside line. there was definitely enough room to give but i got forced onto the curbs and unfortunately we touched. Though i'va made mistakes of my own, i do feel that enough racing room should be given.

Yes, I think some driver eithics should be briefed or are there any on this site for someone to view? especially to the new and younger drivers. I got into a corner accident once which put me from 2nd to last where I have to catch up all over again. That's fine cause it's hard to argue over a turn although I had the inside line and in front!

But what surprised me was on the straights, I got blocked left, right, center by a 45kg-er. Protecting the line is fine but I don't think it's necessary to go all out of the way just to make sure I can't line up for the turn.

Just a suggestion. I still had tons of fun! Smiling

Hi Dennis,

yea we touched and it was unfortunate. At the corner of my eye i felt that i did give you enough room, i guess its just down to a racing incident. But i'd like to add that the next time you're on the inside line at the parabolic, try not to carry so much speed through cause you'll tend to understeer and thats why you might have felt that i didn't give you enough room. Anyhows, heres to some good clean fun the next time out.

hi joc,

dont get me wrong..im not blaming you for it. im just using it as an example as to what shouldn't have been done by both parties...and i dont think i understeered that time around. i did lose a bit of traction as my kart was half above the curbs. Maybe i shouldnt have tried a move on you there even if i was already beside you, and maybe you could've afforded a bit more space so yea whats done is done and im just saying luckily nothing worse happened than just a spin, but also to warn the others that such a scenario could happen as i've learnt on that day. No hard feelings dude it was fun nonetheless and a lesson well learnt

dear all,
some time ago, we had already discussed about this. Please go thru the thread. In principle, the driver in front has right of way (ROW) but overtaking driver who is in the inside line and at least half a karts' length does get ROW into the corner.

If you can not make the overtaking move, please back off. You can do it again in the next corners. Please be safe and courteous.

Dear all,
Multiple blocking move (weaving) is NOT allowed in racing. We are only allowed to block ONCE between two corners. Please escalate to the control center or race captain of any incident so that immediate action/reprimand/reminder can be issued to the offending driver. This will help with the learning curve.
