Q1
Had a problem with the throttle at low rpm right from the start of the Q1. Lodged a complain to Bob and he made an adjustment to the needle to make it leaner. The kart shown a good sign that it was okay after the fix
Q2
Started from pole, I gave one heck of a fight on the first 4 corners, with Jules admitting he had a hard time to pass me on the 1st hairpin. Then, as if it was a dejavu, the problem occured again starting from the 2nd corner. But this time with an added sputters at high rpm. Seems Bob's adjustment in the pit didn't do much justice. Lodged a complain again to the mechanic and they took the carburetor off to have it fixed. After the fix, the mechanic tested it and the kart seems to be in working order ... sort of ...
Final B
Started from 7th position, I knew that I only need (more like hoping actually) to be in 6th place in order to gain a point. The kart was working well ... briefly. After I saw Faiz's kart stalled on the back straight I only need to catch up with Yip Yen but sadly, the problem arise ... again. I was fuming inside the helmet but what is there to do? Even Faiz managed to unlap himself in the dying minutes of the race. Oh well, that's racing for the unfortunate I guess. Congratulations Ashraf for dominating the race and also to Yip Yen for scoring his first ever point in K1

Q1
Nothing Special for me, running on soft compound tyres for the first time, was trying different braking points and turn in points. Finished 3rd. Kart was fine but tyre pressure was set up too low and was too grippy coming out of the corner. lost some time three.
Q2
Started back of Grid , managed to climb some positions and finished 5th , almost took 4th away from suhazlan in the last corner, but he managed to regain back.
Q3,
Qualified just 1 point shy from my partner tarmizi, therefore i have to choose another Kart. Something you dont wanna do towards the end of the season while u are fighting for the championship. There were not much choices so i ended up with Kart no 12 ( spare kart )
It was a bad kart, with the alignment running to the left.
Bad race and Bad day for me . But i had fun with the new soft compounds .
Moral of the story ,
Dont go drinking on Friday Nights with your Colleagues !!!

HAHA
today was a good raceday for me. Having to assist Luen in managing K1 didnt derail me from getting points for championship.
Q1
as usual im starting at the front row and knowing that i will start way at the back for the 2nd qualifying. I felt i need to secure this qualifying point badly. At the start iskander overtook me as soon as the green flag was waved. Managed to sneak in front of Ramsey before the 1st corner. Tried to chase Isk but he was flying...Literally when he went wide and over the curb coming into the parabolic left turn. Managed to maintain my position till the end thank god because i saw glimpse of Cifu.
Q2
The big battle for me as i need to climb up from last position. 1st corner didnt helped much because everyone was bunching up in and out of corners. i was trailing the huge group for couple of laps...managed to overtake izrul and gagak sniper. I was trailing isk and azlan when they were dog fighting. I got my helmet down at the back straight but when i look up azlan went straight at the grass run off. 1 more spot for me..haha ended 5th.
Finals
Yessss i managed to go final A and starting on 3rd row along side no one other than my fellow compatriot DEsmond!. hahaha. we didnt make any eye contact on that point cuz we already wish each other good luck at the pits..LOL. reaching the starting exiting the turn leading the straight i already heard ashraff accelerating. All the guys ont he right row managed to zoom off when left row guys got bogged down by the leader. How lucky was that! haha. I overtook brian before the 1st corner and jump to 2nd position. Chasing Ashraff was almost possible but he pulled a gap on me. and Brian was few seconds behind me towards the end. Was scary .Great race for me!

Sounds like the exact same problem I had in Rd 9 which cost me dearly in the Group A final

It was one of those days when anything that could go wrong, did!
Q1: Although I was excited at trying out the new tyres which provided great handling and grip through the corners, I had problems with the carburretor which meant that my kart was sputtering and coughing...not good. I tried my hardest to try and unclog the engine, playing with the throttle, etc, but only managed to survive somewhere in position 7 or 8 at the end of this heat.
Q2: After Mumu's less than favourable outing where he found the mechanics still did not fix the problem, they serviced the carburretor and out I went, thinking all was well. The first two laps were promising, and I truly believed I could end up in the top 3 of this heat.
At lap 2 or 3, I was in the chase for 3rd position, with Iskander hot on my trail, hurtling down the long straight, and as I approached the corner, braked, then turned the steering...and,...still went straight....arrrgh! my steering was not responding and luckily my reflexes kicked in and I braked in time to avoid hitting the tyre barriers!....walk of shame for me!...
Back at the ranch...made my complaints to the mechanic...that I expected basic things like steering pins to be in place, etc etc...and resigned to the fact that my role today was to be Mumu's test driver!..
Final B:
I managed to find myself in 5th or 6th position after the starting flag, and this time, my steering worked and everything else worked brilliantly..I truly had fun with the new JYM tyres, steering working and engine behaving well too. At about 3rd or 4th lap, I think Shaeran had a minor scuffle with another kart before the left hander, which allowed me to gently pass him (with a nice friendly wave too!) and gain 3rd position.
UP ahead was Fazz and Zul, locked in battle...I tried my hardest to inch my way up, but after a couple of laps, let those two fight it out and defended my position to finish 3rd!
Finishing 12th overall was a real bonus after starting at the back of the grid!...phew!

Looking at the performance of the top seeded drivers above, it seems that the benchmark ratio of Champ/Qualifying points is about 1:2.7.
Hence, based on my Qualy points of 190, I should have 190/2.7 = 70 points..instead of 41 points.
That means I'm doing well in Qualifying but not converting that to actual results...or have had a run of bad luck this year...
and since Mumu and I share the same kart...his ratio is 1:2.7, while mine is 1:4.6 which is really crap!!...so it must be down to driver skills
