Problems with comments shifting to the left!

Folks,

I was just alerted to a problem that I initially thought was an isolated issue. This relates to the phenomena of the thread comments shifting to the left, causing reading problems as the comments get truncated.

Running Comment posts

Initially only Fairus alerted me on this, and nobody else. It was only when I moved the navigation bars to the left that more members complained about this.

I've checked the code, CSS & HTML as best to my understanding. It would seem that there is no issues with the codes. It is just that Microsoft's Internet Explorer misbehaves when dealing with CSS codes... even though the codes are standards compliant.

What can I say? I guess, for better outcomes I would suggest that you guys download and change to Firefox.

Yusnee gave a round-around solution to the problem.
If you really cannot (and need to) read the missing text, click on "quote" and read from there!

inconsistency of "x new comments" link

for example, a new topic has 4-5 replies to it, so when there are new comments, it will still be in page 1. when u click "2 new comments", that link will bring u straight to the latest comments.

but, for topic like 'enduro' or 'round3' with clearly has more than 20 replies, the replies will continue to page 2,3 etc. when u click "2 new comments", that link WILL NOT bring u straight to the latest comments. it merely goes to the top of page 1 of that topic. i was hoping it will go to the latest comments too, regardless of where the latest comment is located.

fazz, is it somethng wrong with my browser (mozilla firefox) or its the settings of this website. thanks!

This is nothing wrong with Firefox. It is the settings of the website. The "2 new comments" link will bring you to the bottom of the first page of the comments list. However, not to the next pages. I don't know how to correct this unfortunately - but the work around is to have all comments in one page (but that will be a long page!).

yes... but the MIS chaps in Marconi are err umm micro managing wackos with no sense of adventure whatsoever (and the nasty habit of Marconi's engineers downloading all kinds of crazy stuff into their laptops and crashing them every other week does little to help too...)
