apologies for the late updates in the round 6 results.

there were some minor discrepancies in the results that required me to check through the lap charts.

pls give your race feedback here.

Couldn't remember much about the races by now but it was a good weekend for me, result wise nevertheless and it was good for my overall ranking though.

As the track was quite damp at certain braking points, you get to see many spectacular spin-offs.

Starting in group B is some kind of blessing as the track is slight ly drier (only slightly though). There were damp patches on the 1st left corner after the starting line, damp patches on the left parabolic turn, damp patches in the S-turns, one damp patch in the middle of the track just before the left turn to the straights and the MOTHER of all damp patches is at the end of the straight just after the pit entry and before the left hairpin.

All I can remember of the 1st heat is seeing John Tatt did a flying start and I was wondering who is this fella with b*lls of steel flying in this damp track. Kart 7 took some time to warm-up and I drop back a place or two just to be caution of the track condition.
I remember overtaking Shahrul and just at the left turn before the straights, saw John spinning like a top at the apex of the turn and just managed to avoid him by taking the inside line. The next thing I know is I don't have Shahrul breathing down my neck (apparently he crashed into John). Somewhere around lap 4 or so, saw Muhaymin spun off at the damp patch just before where Shahrul & John crashed and I was lucky to avoid him too as I was practically charging towards him. The rest of the race is uneventful as I could see Brian E and Steward not far in front of me but I couldn't close-up to them.

In heat 2, couldn't remember much about the race but all I could remember is Brian E overtook me and a couple of laps later his left side pod dropped down a bit and was scrapping the road with sparks (He sure left a sparkling drive). Overtook him and have Muhaymin in my sight but I didn't know I was in second place then as I thought I was in 3rd place all the while. Should have pressured Muhaymin a little bit more. Laughing out loud

For the finals, Muhaymin took my favourite kart (grrrr...) and I have to settle for kart 1. The kart didn't have much of a front grip and understeers a bit (due to the slight lack of grip).
Was looking around to check for my position just after the start and found I was last just before the right hairpin corner. When I looked back to the front, suddenly I found karts spinning around just in front of me. As I was in the inside line and nowhere to go, I took an evasive move to the extreme left but still found a kart spinning just in front of me. I have no choice but to visit the grassland and managed to avoid contact with anybody and by that time 4 guys already started to dissappear into the horizon with Steward not too far away from me. Managed to overtake Steward a couple of laps later but too far away to chase Jin and ended 4th for the weekend.

Hope to get this sort of good results for the rest of the season.Smiling

Forgot to add this.

In K2 group A heat 2, I was stationed at the end of the long straight holding the yellow flag just in case of any mishaps. A lot of accidents and spin-offs occured at that corner due to the very damp patch at the braking zone.

Shaeran was practising his late braking there during the warm-up and I was thinking to myself: Waaahh, Shaeran must be practising new tactics.
At the start of the race, he was leading until Jin overtook him 2 laps later. On the 3rd or so, Faizal bang into Ashraff at the corner where I was. I was waving the yellow flag as Faizal's kart is at a dangerous location, Jin passed through cleanly and Shaeran who is charging down the straight and took the inside line of the track which is slightly more damp and did his late braking. He hit his brakes hard and all the sudden the rear end breaks off into a spin and he ended up on the outside line just before the turn and got lodged on to the curb. It is a tactic gone very wrong and he ended up 5th instead of 2nd.
It is a case of Hall of Fame becoming a Hall of Shame. Laughing out loud :D Laughing out loud

great personal account.

amazing that the track remained wet throughout until the K2 A final. The wet patch at the end of the main straight sounds like a tricky bit. surprised that many were still very gung ho. ah shame. careful drivers like me could have profitted nicely. Smiling

just to correct some misreporting: muhaymin did not start the 1st qualifying race last. and he was not late. i concluded and assumed so based on the lapchart which showed him last.

pls accept my apologies. will have to fix the report.
