please add your personal account of the event on the day.
i had fairly good race in round 1. qualifying one went well with a good kart #26. qualifying two was a bit of a let down, as the fuel mixture wasn't right (too rich). i was losing speed coming out of corners. luckily we only had 5 drivers in the race, so i decided to just finish the race (and collect points) at what was quite a sunday drive pace.
i was feeling a bit positive for the final. i chose kart #10 which looked very quick. steward certainly had fun with the kart in the coca cola final. i just wondered whether he had too much fun? the guy was practically drifting the kart everywhere!
as it turned out, kart #10 had grip problems (or was it because i am getting old?), so i had difficulties round fast corners. I made a great start and was up to second challenging Iskdandar M7 for the first few laps. However, i just could not get close enough to attempt passing him. So i concentrated on keeping my pace and holding my line.
i had to hold my line desperately as i had nazri ng and nizer breathing down my neck. i held them as long as i could (up to the penultimate lap!) but the two buggers simply drove round me on the fast parabolica. what an insult!
fourth in the season opener was not what i had in mind. oh well.

pretty much my first racing experience in the 100cc..
wasnt feeling too well this round as i had some cough.. and 100cc exhaust fumes just made it worst for me.
1st qualifying was quite a mess.. karts not behaving.. stalled on formation lap while trying to show azlan he had a puncture.. i think it started with only 3 karts? the rest was like just do with whatever u have.. oh well..
2nd qualifying wasnt good either.. had a 'no power' kart.. but did manage some good battle with steward for couple of laps..
finals in the ais kosong cup, couldnt match the pace of the front runners.. struggling with oversteering and braking points...
not a good result for the first round.. but definitely a worthwhile experience.
oh btw, i didnt get my change back.. so deduction on 2nd round?

Not quite a good start for me in Q1 as the kart chain broke during the formation lap. Didnt realised the green flag was waved at that time as i took my own sweet time after changed to another spare kart. I only knew tha race has been started when i saw the LAST LAP board. Was like what tha???
Took kart 29 for Q2 and final B. Finished 9th overall yesterday. Had a great battle with naza, mizi, shahrul and joey in Q1 and final B race. Mizi reveals his new 2007 DTM style wannabe suit. Poorahhhh!
What happened to fiki yesterday? Rainman apa cerita la?

can't imagine how out of shape I was.. was so exhausted after the races I slept till dinner. I had a good race this weekend though, having to had the opportunity to almost win the first and second qualifying. Good battle with Naza for first qualifying but the kart just didn't have any pickup and for second qualifying had me spun at the fifth corner taking out Naza too while covering up the racing lines. Sorry Naza. Unfortunately I DNF anyhow with a tyre puncture in the finals. The kart 10 I rode in the finals was so bad in vibration it factured my left and right ribs. What makes carts vibrate the way it does anyways?
Kart 10 was really bad in grip also. I've trouble as turning as well. Anyhow, I had fun and hope to win the upcoming races without Steward laughing at how out of shape I'm compared to him.. *grr*

I slept uneasily that night because that remark came from another senior mykarter after watching how the k3 graduates dominated round 1. That pretty much sum up the scenario on that day but I took comfort in that, this is what mykart is all about.....unearthing talented drivers.
Q1 was really like a comedy cos when the green flag dropped, maybe 4 karts shot off and the rest were in all sort of problems. Lap after lap, I was like thinking " hey! is the race on or not". So, its relatively uneventful.
Q2 is a completely different race. It was mayhem from T1 and really enjoyed the thrills of dicing with Joey, Ramsey and Azlan. Pity it was shortlived. It was at T5 when Joey's kart spun and as I tried to slip behind him, my rear wheels clipped his rear bumper. The impact was strong enough to bend the rear axle and I fininsh the race by hitching a ride on Ah Boy's bike.......ah well, tough luck la I thought!
The Final : Whoa! kart 28 had huge understeer problems and I thought I was going to kiss the tyre barrier at T1. The rest of the race was pretty much trying to just finish the race and get the points more so after its clear that I dont have the pace to be competitive this time.
....Hello! when can we have the next K1 race....cannot cari makan in k2 la!

ahhaha...the moment i reached ck i already know that its gonna be tough....looking at the k2 name list made my heart skipped for awhile....1st qualifying didnt help me much...i got a lousy kart 24.....was not powerful but reasonable handling...qualifying 1 is more like waving and bagi lalu to everyone . 2nd qualifying was better...i got kart 20...good bottom and middle end...good handling also..but cant reach the same top speed as kart 26.. i remember passing muhaymin at the double apex corner(infront of d grandstand) after he span...sorry min bro...but thank you.. hahahhaa.... all this lead me to final B..aiyo....final B was okay...managed to pick the same kart no.20..hahaha....started badly...eveyone rush in.. but manage to climb up and take 1st spot...okay la..hahhaha....overall it was an interesting race...nice to see alot of old my kart faces...

AS for me i have mix feelings for my first round.
Q1 ; had a competitve kart. just manage to stay behind Muhaymin from start to the end. as nizer and che mat was pulling away . manage to finish 4th
Q2 ; got a slow kart " same kart that danny took " real slow kart with no pick up but decent top speed . was overtaken by everyone the moment the green flag drops.
but still manage to play abit with Yusnee Yusof and caused my kart to "willy" like mat rempit. hahaa finished second last.
later the kart was taken out away from final because "no power".
final c : got a very good kart was leading all the way till the end.
later this kart also was banned for final because " too powerful"
I noticed that the differences between karts for this round is far too much. some too slow some to fast.
but anwayy , i had fun ... looking forward for 2nd round. hope to be luckier this time

So my thoughts were absolutly wrong .First win first debut in K2.not back(a pat on back)..Uhmm OVerall race was good..
Q1 not too happy of how the kart #29 or was it #26 was behaving..It was oversteering too much which made me fight with the kart.No battle in this round..just getting my braking points right at my markers..Dropped a position down ..I was overtaken by Nazri.bah.
This league i was pushing hard to catch up with Fazz...but the gap wouldnt wanna close in..biasalah pagi first heat kepala pon blum warm up...ehehehe it gets a lil fuzzy in the beginning..
Q2 was fun ..I call this heat the chicken run heat cos i manage to slither thru at 2 and 3 i think and run as fast as u can..Nazri was again fast, due to his weight category of course...I must say he lead a pretty far gap..Luen was behind me until he told he at the end of the race..ehheheh
Finals i main tipu sikit...ahaha I out brake siapa ah?.. kat first corner?..then anyways he went wide on the corners went in...maintain position,push hard and lali lor..
ahahahah that sums it all...

Dude i reckon i have Tok Tamin genes for real man.. I mean atuk is thin and tall ..and the other atuk sebelah my dad is as equal as Tok Tamin so that sums it all.I dont think i can see myself any bigger in years to come..maybe...hopefully...And i assume that if i were to reach 'heavy stage' then maybe theres something is wrong..eheheheheheh

Sad to have a spun in order to avoid Steward after turn 2 (at the start of the race) or might give Naza a good fight.
Steward's kart 10 definitely has better torque & top speed than mine as you can see he can pull away on the straights.
