2008 will be the 6th season for my-KART's DRIVERS (formerly known as KART) series. The 2008 season will build on the success of the previous 5 seasons.

More new challengers will be expected in 2008. How close will the competition be this year? Competition is expected to be tougher and tougher as drivers gain more experience in the series.

Folks,
Inspite of our fine manners and exemplary behaviour, the powers that be dealt the cruellest blow possible when our paparazzi reported that the CK track is close to the public except to AMBANK personnel from Friday to Sunday! Undeterred, the hardest of all hardcore mykarter at the last minute decided to risk family and fortune to head for Sepang, today Sunday noon.

For those of you who would decide to join this chicken wings hunt in the jungle track of Sepang, here is the deal:

12.00 noon - rendezvous at Dengkil R&R off the ELITE Highway, Southbound. Quick bite and whatever for 30 mins.

12.30 pm. - Cabut to Sepang SIC

Fall Back Plan : ELITE PLUS track....(after consultation).

Apologies for this very very late announcement.....next weekened is rd 7 oledi!

K3 Driver Incident

details: 

Following facts of the incident:

location: shah alam citykarting circuit
K3 (CCW)
weather: sunny
track conditions: dry
injury to Aiman Rizal
other parties involved (please advise if known)

events:

2 karts were turning into the corner
the karts made contact and Aiman's kart went up on two wheels (right hand front and rear).
Aiman was thrown from the kart onto the track

Actions taken:

Immediate presence at incident by 2 my-kart members
Signal to all drivers oncoming drivers of danger ahead
driver (Aiman) located to within pit entrance (out of danger). Driver was able to walk
kart moved from track
St John Ambulance arrived within 1 to 2 minutes of incident
driver given medical attention by ambulance crew
no hospitalisation required

incident learnings: 

No fault can be attributed to any one driver.

Aiman was fully protected with race suit, gloves and helmet which provided a great deal of protection - safety briefings to have a section to serve as a reminder of the importance of safety apparel.

A word of caution regarding placement of cushions in the drivers seat. Drivers and supervisiors should ensure that any cushions are packed such that the driver is still seated "within" the bucket of the seat to avoid any 'sliding out' of the seat in the event the kart becomes unbalanced.
